Why a Blog?

I’ve been toying with the idea of creating a blog, specifically a running/fitness related blog, for some time. I would get all kinds of ideas in my head, and then never actually create the blog. I figured there was no way I could have enough interesting things to say and there were plenty of running blogs out there, so why would anyone read mine. Both of these things remain to be seen.

What made me finally pull the trigger and go for it? Well, I am a Millennial so it seemed like the stereotypical (read: basic) thing to do :-). However, I also realized, I wanted to write this blog for myself and if other people liked it, that would be great. It will be a great way to keep me motivated to run when I’m not training for something or when training gets exhausting; maybe, it will even motivate me to improve my health and fitness in other ways (i.e. actually meal prep). It  also will be a great way to keep remember moments (running related or otherwise) from this time in my life. Finally, it’s a great way to break away from my day-to-day norm. I’m a data analyst, so I stare at numbers all day; the only writing I do is code, emails, and maybe the occasional presentation.

After realizing all that I decided to I pay the $35 for the year subscription and am finally starting this adventure after writing it on my 2017 resolutions/to-do list and thinking about it for much longer. If anyone knows me, they know that if I pay for something, I’m going to utilize it. I’m sure this blog will evolve as I figure out how to use all the features of WordPress and think of new topics about which to write, so stay tuned for this adventure.
